Should I repaint my iron railings or replace them? Once rust takes hold, repainting usually only buys you a season before it returns. Replacing with vinyl or aluminum ends the yearly upkeep for good and refreshes your curb appeal. Jim will give you an honest take during your free consultation.

What railing materials do you offer? Primarily vinyl (UltraGuard® and Color Guard®) and aluminum (Key-Link). Both are virtually maintenance-free, rust-proof, and backed by lifetime warranties. See our vinyl and aluminum railing pages for details.

What’s the difference between vinyl and aluminum? Vinyl has a fuller, classic look and is often the most economical for traditional porches. Aluminum has a slim, modern profile with extra strength — popular for contemporary homes and open deck views. Both resist rust and need almost no maintenance.

How much maintenance do new railings require? Almost none. No painting, no staining, no scraping — just an occasional rinse to keep them looking freshly installed.
